Privacy Policy — Lumen Verse

This policy explains how the Lumen Verse mobile application (the "App", com.lumenverse.app) collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Data controller

Lumen Verse is published by an independent developer. For any question about your data, contact us at atsaranatsaran@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

• Anonymous identifier: on first launch, an anonymous ID is created via Firebase Authentication (anonymous sign-in). It does not directly identify you.
• Spiritual preferences (onboarding): language, chosen tradition, interests and situation, used to personalize the verses shown.
• Account (optional): if you create an account or sign in with email / Google, we process your email address and, where applicable, your display name.
• Subscription status: premium / founding-member flag.
• Verse requests: when you request a verse, we store the reference you enter, your optional note, and the language, to handle your request.
• Usage data: anonymized usage statistics (screens viewed, interactions) via Firebase Analytics, to improve the App.

3. Data stored only on your device

• Your favorite verses, pinned verses, widget settings, streak, and display preferences.
• Widget background photo: if you choose a photo from your gallery as a background, it is used and kept locally on your device only — it is never uploaded or shared.

4. How we use your data

• Personalize verses and the experience based on your preferences.
• Sync your settings and status across sessions.
• Process and respond to your verse requests.
• Measure usage and improve stability and features.
• Send local notifications (verse reminders, badges) — which you can disable.

5. Legal basis (GDPR)

For users in the European Union, processing is based on your consent (preferences, notifications, analytics), the performance of the service you request, and our legitimate interest in improving and securing the App.

6. Sharing and third-party providers

We do not sell your data. We rely on Google services to run the App:

• Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Analytics (Google).
• Google Play Services, including the in-app review feature.

These services process data under Google's Privacy Policy.

7. International transfers

Data may be processed on servers located outside your country (notably Google's). Such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards under the GDPR.

8. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as you use the App. You may request deletion at any time (see "Your rights"). Local data is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its storage.

9. Security

Server data access is protected by Firestore security rules and encryption in transit (HTTPS). No system is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability. To exercise them, email atsaranatsaran@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us for its deletion.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be noted in the App or on this page, with a new "last updated" date.
